Michelle wants to rejoin the workforce now that her children are older. Like many members of "the sandwich generation," she is caught between juggling family management and caring for her elderly mother, Indira. Indira's early stages of dementia appear to be progressively getting worse. Faced with the prospect of having to put Indira in a home, Michelle struggles to evaluate her priorities. Cultural traditions in a family of mixed ethnicity and pressures of modern life show there is no easy solution.
