Part of the Storytellers in motion series
With a sense of balance between the physical, mental and spiritual and a strong desire to always improve, photographer Bert Crowfoot captures the spirit of the moment in his work. As a speaker and community leader, he communicates the importance of keeping cultural protocols alive as a form of spiritual respect for the ancestors.
Through a strong entrepreneurial spirit and business acumen, Crowfoot has turned a small newspaper in to a media empire. Windspeaker, a self-sufficient publication, is now in its 25th year. "The Native Perspective" forms the core mandate of CFWE-FM, a radio station that has a listening audience far beyond Canada through the internet. Bert Crowfoot's positive energy and belief in turning stumbling blocks into stepping stones continue to inspire those around him.
