Daniel J. Pierce

Daniel J. Pierce is an up and comer in the Vancouver documentary scene. He graduated from SFU with a BFA in film production and screenwriting. His undergrad film, In Transit, received a warm response from audiences at the 2008 Vancouver International Film Festival. He got his first taste of documentary while working on the doc series, Monster Moves, in northern Quebec. However, he gave up this opportunity to pursue a rare and bizarre opportunity to document the restoration of the iconic Hollow Tree in Vancouver, which premiered at the 2011 DOXA Documentary Film Festival. His next film, For Our Daughters, tackles girls’ education issues in Northern Ghana and is due for completion in 2012. Daniel is also the co-founder of the Junction Media Collective in Vancouver, a shared workspace for emerging filmmakers in the heart of historic Gastown.
