Douglas Kerr


Producer/ Director Douglas Kerr is a household name. Since a young age has been an avid filmmaker and storyteller and has carried his passion forward, creating a unique voice and outlook for himself and gaining recognition as an aspiring talent worth watching.

While completing a extensive three year advanced film diploma at Capilano University, Douglas directed Three AM, an action filled dramatic piece which had a successful festival run, screening internationally, winning a few awards at home at VSFF, nominated for Best Student Production at the Leo Awards and received a one year contract with Movieola.

After a successful completion of the MPPIA BCFILM funded short, The Light of Family Burnam, in which he produced, and the incorporation of his company Awkward Moment Productions, Douglas has continued to move forward with his filmmaking career. He has produced and directed several music videos for Canadian artists under VideoFACT and featured on MusicBC. He helped produce a few more short films, which are currently circulating the festival circuit, coordinated a Live DVD series for the band 3 Inches of Blood and is currently developing 2 feature narrative films as producer.

Douglas has recently expanded his horizons by producing 2 feature length documentaries (Murder of Couriers, Rosie Needs a New Brain) both currently in postproduction as well as Producing and Editing a web series called White Collar Poet, which is due out later in 2011.

When Douglas is not busy working on new developments, he can be found pursuing a serious hobby of photography.
