Adam Mars

Adam Mars grew up in a rural area close to Osoyoos and attended the local high school. The rural area provided a beautiful setting for him to practice his love for photography and storytelling through images. Inspired by his photography teacher, Adam won a North American National Photography Association Scholarship and travelled to Texas to work with professional photographers and to enhance his skills. During his grade 12 he also created a commercial for CBC television with enhanced computer graphics.

In 1999 Adam graduated near the top of his class and was accepted into the pre-commerce program at UBC, which is where he met Sharon and Nozomi. Commerce proved to not be of much interest to him and he shifted his course load towards the arts, taking Theatre and second-year English. He finally quit UBC in the winter of 2000, determined to go to film school and become a director. He quickly found a position on a movie-of-the-week as a stills-photographer and had the chance to see the action up close. This experience cemented his interests in film and television. Adam was accepted into the Capilano College film program where he has been taking their professional program for the last year.

During his time at Capilano College, he has gathered a large network of friends and expanded on his knowledge and abilities. Adam's directorial debut, a short piece written by one of his teachers, earned him a position as one of the few directors on his large class projects. He also worked as a camera operator and locations manager on several second-year student's projects. Adam is currently working in the film industry as a special effects assistant and camera trainee.
