Artist's Statement
This film [Growth Rings] was made as the culmination of two years of work, in research, traveling, and filming along British Columbia's West Coast. It was important to me to make a film that not only expressed an opinion, but also documented a moment and place that would be not long for this world, due to current economic and social interests. It is crucial that people who would not otherwise be heard have the opportunity to be. Furhter, that I learn from the experience of those people and documenting them, and their voices continue on to teach others.
