Al Sens

A graduate of the Vancouver School of Art-now Emily Carr Institute-Al Sens began his artistic career in the early 50s drawing cartoons for various Canadian and American publications, including the Saturday Night Post and Maclean's. He went on to teach animation at the University of British Columbia, form Vancouver's first animation studio, make films for the National Film Board of Canada, and complete close to 40 theatrical, educational and personal films. An internationally celebrated animation pioneer, Al has supported and inspired countless younger filmmakers throughout his career. Now retired, he continues his lifelong work on offbeat animation.
