Jason Krowe

Jason Krowe is Cree/Czech/Irish and a member of the
Beardy's/Okemasis Band in Saskatchewan, and an emerging
video artist who tells socially conscious stories through
imaginative, creative, and experimental structures. Jason trained as a performing artist with Full Circle's Margo Kane and David MacMurray Smith, and performed in two of its productions before beginning his career as a filmmaker.

Jason earned an "Outstanding Achievement Award for Independent Broadcast" at the 2006 IMAGeNation Film Festival in Vancouver for his first video production, Inside, Hiding, which he wrote, produced, directed, edited, and performed in.

Since then, Jason has worked as a researcher and segment producer on CBC's daytime lifestyles program, Living Vancouver, and as Locations Manager and Director on APTN's
children's Aboriginal television series, Nehiyawetan, produced by Loretta Todd. This show of young children learning basic Cree within the urban environment was a project Jason was proud and excited to be a part of.
