Simon Devenish is a Canadian born animator and filmmaker. Intrigued by the world of animation, Simon moved to British Columbia to attend Emily Carr University of Art and Design. Leaving central Canada, Simon used his new surroundings as a springboard into the animation world. Captivated by B.C.’s natural landscape, he aimed to highlight the ever growing rift between Canada’s natural resources and the decay of our country’s beauty. Natural Resonance depicts a disconnect between the perceived image of our landscape and the reality of its deteriorated state.
Simon’s other interests in animation include: 3D, stop motion and mixed media. As a freelance artist Simon is currently working on an animated pilot called Farm Barn, A documentary entitled This is Mania and a television show To Catch a Bike Thief.
