Tess Fragoulis was born in Crete, but grew up in Montreal, where
she still resides. After several non-writing related jobs, she began
public readings and put together the cabaret series, "The Absinthe
Saloon." Her first novel, Stories to Hide from Your Mother,
was inspired by a return trip to her motherland and deals with the
mythology and superstitions of Greek culture. It was nominated by
the Québec Writer's Federation for Best First Book.
In this documentary, she discusses her reputation as both a wild
person and a wild writer, integrating the public persona with the
private person.
